On Wednesday, the South African government approached the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to take action against Israel, as it is not abiding by the court’s provisional ruling to stop killing Palestinian civilians.
BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane said both parties needed to come back to the negotiation table and work out a two-state solution.
“We have called for a ceasefire because I think, now, we need to find ourselves back at the negotiation table and ensure that as difficult as it is. It was difficult during apartheid to negotiate a peaceful transition, and South Africa proved even during that time that, ultimately, we need to go back now to the Middle-Eastern crisis and ensure that there is a peaceful transition, there’s two-state solution, and a ceasefire on the table.”
