On Thursday, Microsoft was hit by a massive outage across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Lester Kiewit speaks with Jay Mistry, Technical Solutionist at Nihka Technology Group.

If you work in an office, you probably would have seen error messages all over your Outlook email from midday on Thursday.

This was a symptom of Microsoft's latest service outage, which affected hundreds of thousands of users.

Not much later Google, MTN, Vodacom and WhatsApp also went offline after damage to undersea cables.

Mistry says that connectivity problems caused by the cable damage were the primary cause of the Microsoft issues.
