Xhakaza was elected mayor last week following the successful passing of an ActionSA-sponsored motion of no confidence in Sivuyile Ngodwana.
ActionSA's Ekurhuleni leader, Siyanda Makhubo, said the new committee showed that residents and service delivery were sacrificed for political expediency.
"Of significance is the appointment of councillor Dunga of the EFF as Finance MMC, who, for more than a year, has plunged the city’s financial health to crisis levels, rendering the city unable to pay for service providers and collapsing service delivery in the process."
