Most boring tourist attractions in the world (according to 66.7m Google reviews)

McDonald reports on a 'controversial study' ranking 100 cities with the most boring tourist destinations.

The ranking, by Solitaired, was drawn up by an analysis of 66.7 million Google reviews of 3290 popular tourist attractions worldwide, spanning 384 cities across 71 countries.

Researchers calculated a boredom score for each site by focusing on 11 keywords indicative of tiresome, lifeless and boring impressions, to determine the least interesting.

The list places seven attractions from Australia in the top 100.

Other not-so-attractive destinations that make up the top 10 come from the United States, Canada and London. A railway trip in Missouri takes first place while Shrek's Adventure London and four Legoland parks make the boring top 25.

Museums comprise 33% of the top 100 most boring attractions.

Georgia (USA) is the most boring state, with many attractions and extensive reviews indicating boredom. The US, Canada, and Australia hold the respective top three spots for countries with the most boring tourist attractions.
