JOHANNESBURG - City Power has restored electricity supply to the south of Johannesburg, following a widespread power outage.
Residents in Soweto and its surrounding areas were plunged into darkness on Wednesday night.
As City Power looks into the cause of the incident, the utility said supply has been restored to most parts Nancefield and Eldorado Park.
The Eikenhof substation was among those affected. It supplies electricity to Rand Water's Eikenhof pump station.
However, there was no indication that water supply was affected as a result of the outage, as has been the case in the past.
