Lester Kiewit speaks to coach Maxwell Bokoyi, Founder of Kaytomas Rugby Club.
The Kaytomas Rugby Club aims to be a 'stepping stone to opportunity' for kids living in Khayelitsha.
The club is about more than rugby development and focuses on personal development. Kids go hiking and visit museums, historical centres, science centres and other areas where they can learn things and have new experiences. Exposure to these activities is not the norm for most kids who join the club and can be life-changing.
Kaytomas Rugby Club is struggling and needs help to keep going.
"We try to knock on different doors, but we're struggling with so many things where some of the kids are walking like 40 minutes to get to training and then go back home after one and a half hour sessions. We're struggling with transport for the kids, clothes, and boots to play."
- Maxwell Bokoyi, Kaytomas Rugby Club
