JOHANNESBURG - The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency has dispatched a team to catch a rogue lion that escaped from one of their provincial reserves.
The lion was spotted by locals in the Matsulu Region at the weekend.
It is believed to have attacked and killed cattle in the area.
Provincial Tourism spokesperson, Simphiwe Shungube, said that they received a complaint about a lion on the loose.
"The public is cautioned to stay alert and not to attempt to catch or kill the lion. The entity has dispatched a team to set up a cage with bait to catch the lion."
