'Cold front' is trending and the Cape of Good Hope SPCA is asking the public to donate blankets and dry dog and cat food to help keep animals in their care safe and warm amid an influx.

"We have been inundated with calls regarding animals left without shelter in this weather and flooding in informal farming areas. Unfortunately, it’s about to get much worse," said the SPCA.

If you're able to help, Petshop Science stores are collecting donations to give to the SPCA at these locations:

  • Fairbridge Mall
  • Durbanville
  • N1 City
  • Old Paarl (by the PnP Hyper)
  • Plumstead
  • Protea Heights (Boulevard Square)
  • Rondebosch
  • Tokai Junction (opposite Blue Route Mall)

You can also make a monetary donation directly to the SPCA by clicking here.

If you see distressed animals with or without shelter, contact the SPCA at 021 700 4158/9.
