Gauteng grade 1 and 8 online application portal for 2025 officially open

JOHANNESBURG -  The Gauteng provincial online admission applications for grades 1 and 8 for the year 2025 has gone live. 
 
Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane switched on the system on Thursday morning, at the Diepsloot Youth Centre.

The closing date is 12 August.
 
No system challenges or delays were encountered during the whole process. 
 
Chiloane said this would make the application process easier for parents. 
 
Later on Thursday, Chiloane is expected to head to the Rocklands Primary School, in Carltonville, following Wednesday’s devastating crash that claimed the lives of 12 pupils in the area.
