JOHANNESBURG - Three firefighters have died while battling a blaze in Mpophomeni in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Sunday.
Five others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.

The KZN Cooperative Governance Department said the firefighters were working in difficult terrain when they lost their lives.
Firefighters have been battling raging infernos all week in parts of the province.
The department sent its condolences to the families of the deceased, thanking them for their bravery.
