DJ Tira’s son Tank ‘The Rockstar’ Khathi is on a mission to carve a path of his own in the entertainment industry.
He recently opened up on Showmax’s new show Born Into Fame.
Fans got a peek at the show about the kids of some of South Africa’s top celebrities.
Tank is joined by the likes of Shamiso Mosake, daughter of radio presenter Azania Mosaka; AJ and Owami Mafokate, children of Arthur Mafokate; and Robbie Malinga Jnr, son of the late Robbie Malinga.
In the preview, Tank shares that being the son of one of the country's most well-known producers and DJs hasn’t made his journey easy.
“Most people expect me to be on point all the time, not realising that I am just figuring myself and my sound out.
“I am still trying to build my career and it is a work in progress. People expect perfection, but that is not how life is,” he says.
While being Tira’s son does come with several perks, it comes at a cost.
“He is busy all the time, so I don’t get to spend a lot of time with him – there is always a project he is working on.”
Born Into Fame is now streaming on Showmax.
