JOHANNESBURG - Former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy leader Floyd Shivambu has hit back at Julius Malema’s comments labelling him a betrayer and a sell-out to the red berets.
Earlier this week, Malema expressed his views on Shivambu’s departure from the EFF questioning his sudden decision to jump ship.
Shivambu has, however, denied betraying anyone or anything – suggesting he’s not in the business of pleasing the egos of politicians.
He was speaking during a media briefing in Sandton on Thursday, where he was unveiled as the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party’s national organiser.

For the first time since his departure from the EFF, Floyd Shivambu was seen in MK Party regalia on Thursday, seemingly content with his new political home.
He said he’s unapologetic about his decision to align himself with a political organisation that’s committed to reversing the effects of apartheid.
"Some people said I betrayed them. Where does that enter? And don’t even suggest that I betrayed the revolution. I will never betray your revolution."
As the national organiser of the MK Party, Shivambu’s responsibilities include policy and research as well as the establishment of branches and the party’s structures.
He is also responsible for political education and monitoring the party’s public representatives.
