JOHANNESBURG - The family of former Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan says it is confident he will recover soon after he was hospitalised.
The family announced on Tuesday that the now-retired former minister is receiving the best medical care.
They did not give more details of his condition, but the family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
The 75-year-old retired from politics earlier in 2024, citing a need to focus on his family and health.
Family spokesperson Adrian Lackay said, “They are appealing to South Africans for their prayers and support. They are with him. He is receiving the best medical care, as they stated, and we wish a speedy recovery as he spends valuable time with his loved ones.”
