DURBAN - The bail application of the five construction mafia suspects arrested for disrupting work at a construction site in KwaZulu-Natal returns to court on Friday.

The group is accused of disturbing workers at a bridge construction site in Msunduzi, Pietermaritzburg, in August.

On Monday, the matter was postponed for arguments in the bail application.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said, “The accused in the matter will return to the Camperdown Magistrates Court today [Friday] for the continuing of their bail application. They are all charged with extortion.”
