Parts of the King David Mowbray Golf Course near the N2 highway in Cape Town have been greenlit for new developments, including affordable housing.

Its location offers easy access to employment hubs and amenities making it perfect for mixed-use.

The development rights will be offered to the markets and revenue from the sale will go towards the municipality’s budget.

Budlender says this is a step in the right direction to undo the apartheid legacy that we still see in land use in Cape Town.

He says that the City of Cape Town should prioritise affordable housing when they release the land.
