10 October 2024 | 12:17The Buccaneers defender has not had the best start to the season.
Robert Marawa speaks to Orlando Pirates’ player, Miguel Timm.
The Orlando Pirates defender says he respects the team's decisions and continues to wait patiently for his time.
This after rumours that the 32-year-old has fallen out of favour under coach Jose Riveriro.
He has not had the best start to the season with limited playing time.
“Of course you want to play, you want to be involved, that’s what you work for… [but] I have enough experience to know how to conduct myself when things aren’t going the way [I] want – obviously not making the squad and sometimes being on the bench.”
- Miguel Timm, Orlando Pirates
Timm was injured when the Buccaneers season started and his comeback has been challenging.
He has yet to feature in a Premier Soccer League game for Pirates this season.
He has come on as a substitute for one CAF Champions League game and one MTN8 game.
Timm hopes for more playing time later in the season but continues to work hard and support the team.
“So, it’s about continuing to work on myself, being an example. There are a lot of young players. We train together… I don’t think it would be a good look for me to be dragging my feet or sulking… I choose the other route to being an example, continue to have a good work ethic.”
- Miguel Timm, Orlando Pirates
“That’s all that I’m in control of, the rest is not up to me… it’s a privilege to be part of this club, I couldn’t be happier. Yes, I want to play more but I think we have a long season ahead.”
