Gauteng police send strong message to lawbreakers over the festive season

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police said that the swift and decisive action taken to thwart an alleged planned robbery in Alberton will continue into the festive season.
On Saturday police gunned down four suspects in a shootout on the R59 in the East Rand suburb.
The suspects were allegedly en route to commit a business robbery in the area.
Gauteng police commissioner Tommy Mthombeni said that a multi-agency response was activated after receiving information about the suspects' alleged plan.
He believes that this collaboration not only prevented the robbery but also potentially saved lives.
Mthombeni adds that the decisive action taken by law enforcement sends a strong message to those planing on breaking the law over the festive season.
