JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng Department of Health said emergency and maternity cases at Kalafong Hospital are being sent to nearby facilities because of water shortages in Tshwane.

Gauteng Health spokesperson Motalatale Modiba said water tankers had been provided.
"This intervention, together with the borehole, is still insufficient to enable optimal patient care at the hospital.
"Due to the water shortage, our technicians have had to look at the situation and make some decisions. Part of those would be that outpatient appointments are being rescheduled and elective procedures are being limited."
