Gift of the Givers assisting Overcome Heights residents after blaze rips through informal settlement

CAPE TOWN - Humanitarian aid organisation, Gift of the Givers, is assisting residents of Overcome Heights informal settlement in Capricorn, Cape Town, following a fire there on Wednesday.
Cape Town firefighters are currently battling the blaze that's ripping through the community.
The damage caused by the fire is yet to be determined and the cause is unknown at this stage.
No deaths have been reported but a firefighter was injured and transported to hospital.
Gift of the Givers spokesperson, Ali Sablay: "Our teams are on the ground monitoring the situation. The City of Cape Town fire department has called in additional resources to help put out the blaze. It's too early to get the exact number of structures affected as it's still an active site. Gift of the Givers teams will be on the ground this evening to assist the community with hot meals, and tomorrow we will extend our full humanitarian aid to all those affected."
