JOHANNESBURG - The KwaZulu-Natal province can expect adverse weather conditions from Friday into the weekend.
The South African Weather Service said that extreme thunderstorms and damaging winds were forecast in the western and central parts of the province.
Areas to be affected include Durban, Margate and Port Shepstone, Newcastle, Bergville, Pietermaritzburg and Howick.
Forecaster Puseletso Mofokeng said that the eastern parts of the country could expect isolated rainfall.
"In KwaZulu-Natal, we are also expecting extreme thunderstorms that may produce excessive lightning, as well as hail and a lot of damaging winds and over to tomorrow we're going to see isolated thundershowers over the eastern parts of the country and this will be a case also on Sunday."
