CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa has officially launched South Africa's presidency of the G20 at Parliament on Tuesday morning.
It's the first time an African nation chairs the prestigious bloc of both developed and developing economies.
South Africa assumes the presidency from Brazil.
Ramaphosa said that inclusivity would be a key feature of South Africa's leadership and government would ensure dialogue with a broad spectrum of civil society groups as a bridge between citizens and leaders.
"South Africa will seek to harness global commitment and capabilities to confront the challenges that the world faces. We all seek to achieve more rapid and inclusive economic growth. That in many ways is what informs what we need to do as G20 countries."
The G20 seeks to find solutions to global economic and financial solutions.
