JOHANNESBURG - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has condemned President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to move Justice Minister Thembi Simelane to the Human Settlements portfolio.
The red berets said the Cabinet reshuffle was a pointless exercise that would do nothing to address the suffering of South Africans.
Ramaphosa’s office announced the changes to his cabinet on Tuesday night.
He also appointed Mmamoloko Kubayi as the country’s new Justice Minister.

Simelane has faced allegations of wrongdoing over a personal loan she took from an alleged VBS fixer during her stint as Polokwane Mayor.
The red berets said Tuesday night’s announcement was a blatant misdirection of resources that could be used to deliver basic services.
They described the announcement as an unnecessary musical chair of corrupt and incompetent ministers and deputy ministers.
Ramaphosa effected four changes to the executive, with the most notable being a swapping of ministers of justice and human settlements.
The EFF, which has ironically been dodged by links to the looting of the now defunct bank also said the appointment of Simelane, who is shrouded in a dark cloud of the mutual bank is a clear indication that the changes have nothing to do with service delivery and good governance.
