JOHANNESBURG - The South African Airways (SAA) Pilots Association intends to strike on Thursday.
This over drawn-out wage negotiations with the airline.
Talks began in May 2024, when the pilots were demanding a 30% increase, which they later reduced to 15.7%.
SAA has offered an increase of 8.46%.
The airline's total revenue this year increased by more than 150%, however, interim CEO, John Lamola, said this does not mean SAA is in a strong financial position.
SAA spokesperson, Vimla Maistry: "The SAA management team is committed to reaching a fair resolution and is implementing contingency measures to ensure than any disruption to our operations will be as minimal as possible for our valued customers, especially during the busy December season."
