Ekurhuleni residents left in the dark following cable theft

JOHANNESBURG - Rampant cable theft in Gosforth Park, Ekurhuleni has left residents in the dark for more than a week.

On Friday, another case was reported in an area that was recently targeted a week ago.

Ekurhuleni MMC for energy Mzayifani Ngwenya said the vandalism of municipal infrastructure is increasingly becoming a thorny issue.

"So even that area we flagged it, that area on its own, because now it's for the second time that this cable has been stolen."
