The death toll from road crashes in the Eastern Cape is nearing 90, with more travel expected over the New Year’s break.
Mabuyane said it was everyone’s responsibility to act swiftly and prevent further loss of life.
"The alarming increase in road accidents is claiming innocent lives,” said spokesperson Khusela Rantjie.
"In the past week alone, the province witnessed several fatal road crashes, and the premier calls on all road users to exercise caution, be vigilant, and adhere to traffic laws to prevent more deaths."
