DA pleads with Mozambican govt to ensure South Africans living there are kept safe

JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) is pleading with the Mozambican government to ensure South Africans living there are kept safe.
On Monday, Maputo's highest court confirmed the ruling party candidate won October's disputed presidential elections.

Since then, post-polls violence, human rights violations, and destruction of private property have all escalated across the border.
The DA's Willie Aucamp said the instability in the neighbouring country neede urgent attention.
"The minister of International Relations, Ronald Lamola, must also, as a matter of utmost urgency, engage with his counterpart in the Mozambican government to work towards a peaceful resolution. The DA calls upon South African citizens living in Mozambique to contact our public representatives with any information on the ongoing crises."
