KZN taxi crash claims 8 family members on their way to a wedding

DURBAN - Eight family members travelling to a wedding have died in a minibus accident in Mandaba, Nkandla on Monday.  

The accident comes after another crash that claimed five lives in Vryheid, northern KwaZulu-Natal earlier on Monday morning.

Transport MEC Siboniso Duma conveyed his sympathy to the grieving families. 

His spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya urged motorists to be "extra careful and obey rules of the road.” 

Sibiya added that the transport department had sent teams to the affected families. 

"The are teams that have been sent to visit the families of the victims in Vryheid and Nkandla," said Sibiya.
