JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane and the Magalies Water Utility say the water supplied by the Klipdrift Package Plant has been thoroughly inspected and monitored to provide improved water quality.
They've completed the first phase of their water treatment project to supply clean drinking water to the community of Hammanskraal, which has battled unclean water for years.
The Department of Water and Sanitation said in the past few weeks, teams have been cleaning the pipes that used to get water from Temba Water Works, which now get water from the new Klipdrift Water Treatment Plant.
Spokesperson Cornelius Monama said tests show water quality has improved.
“The Klipdrift Package Plant continues to supply the City of Tshwane with projected volumes of approximately 12.5 ML per day. The water provided by the Klipdrift Package Plant meets the minimum standard requirements for drinking water in South Africa, as specified in SANS 241:2015, as verified by a laboratory accredited by ISO/IEC 17025.”
