JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane and Magalies Water have completed the first phase of a water treatment project to supply clean water to the community of Hammanskraal.
The community has suffered from an unclean water supply for years.
Department of Water and Sanitation spokesperson, Cornelius Monama said that with the completion of the first phase of the project, at least 12 megalitres per day of treated water would be supplied to various regions of the community by mid-2025.
"In October 2024, Magalies Water, in collaboration with the City of Tshwane, successfully completed the first phase of the water treatment project which comprises an advanced facility equipped with four package plants as a directive by the minister of water and sanitation. These regions are situated within Mandela Village, Marokolong, Ramotse, Kekana Gardens, along with the Babelegi Industrial."
