JOHANNESBURG - Joburg City Power officials are disconnecting illegal electricity connections at the Princess informal settlement in Roodepoort on Tuesday.
The utility said this is one of the problematic areas in Johannesburg that are straining the system and affecting people who are paying for their electricity.
City Power also warned other offenders that they would be disconnected.
Despite the risks involved, including potential violence, City Power said these operations are crucial to maintain its viability and ensure reliable electricity supply.

Technicians, escorted by police law enforcement officials are targeting illegal connections in this high-risk area.
