The South African entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Andile Chilli, better known as DJ Boonu.
The Durban-based DJ reportedly passed away on Wednesday following a short illness.
Chilli was known for pioneering Gqom tracks like uSwidi Wodwa and Abangani Bami.
He was widely respected for his behind-the-scenes work in visual storytelling and his electrifying performances on stage.
He also founded Swidi Film, a production house, and won a South African Music Award for Best Music Video for his work on the song Gucci by Mthandeni SK.
While details surrounding his death have not yet been revealed, fans and industry peers continue to pay tribute to the hitmaker.
