CAPE TOWN - Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson said they've appointed PwC to investigate an R800 million oxygen plant tender at the Independent Development Trust (IDT).
He said this followed IDT’s admission that the oxygen plant tender where three companies were appointed despite two lacking South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) registration should be investigated.

"The independent investigation that I've launched as the minister into the IDT through forensic auditors PwC will once and for all determine whether irregularities during the PSA oxygen plant tendering process."
Macpherson also dismissed allegations of bribing a journalist to write negatively about the IDT to force changes at the entity.
"I will not be distracted by noise, by allegations or cheap political stunts that are meant to bully us and try to distract us from uncovering the truth."
