SASSA Gold Cards expire in February. Here’s how to replace yours...
All SASSA Gold Card holders will need to replace theirs by 28 February 2025.
Lester Kiewit speaks with Paseka Letsatsi, Head of Communications at SASSA.
Listen below:
SASSA Gold Cards are expiring at the end of next month.
They must be replaced by the Postbank Black Card by 28 February.
Gold Card holders can replace their cards at no cost at retailers such as Pick n Pay and Shoprite.
They will need to bring their ID or temporary ID.
Letsatsi says everyone must be physically present when changing their cards, as appointing others presents a huge risk of fraud.
Only in extreme circumstances, such as a person being bedridden, can you contact Postbank to make alternative arrangements.
“This is not a blanket approach where a person can simply sit at home and not change their card, and claim they are unable, come 28 February.”
