Western Cape top achiever says it's all about hard work

JOHANNESBURG - The Western Cape’s top achieving matriculants have been awarded for their exceptional effort this week.

Premier Alan Winde and Education MEC hosted the National Senior Certificate Award ceremony at the premier's residence.

Rayyan Ebrahim from Pinelands High ranked number one in the province and country. 

He passed matric with seven distinctions and plans on studying data science this year.

Ebrahim added that the accolade does come with some pressure.

"No I'm definitely feeling a bit of pressure, but you know I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing for the past 12 years really, and just keep my head down and continue to work hard."
