Stadium Management addresses Soweto Derby chaos: ‘We can’t continue like this’
Many more than 90,000 fans – some with fake tickets - gathered at FNB Stadium for the Soweto Derby on Saturday.

There were numerous challenges at FNB Stadium this weekend as fans gathered for the Soweto Derby.
The stadium anticipated 90,000 spectators, however, many more showed up, some with fake tickets.
Grobbelaar says this led to serious issues with access control.
“We had a massive amount of fake tickets. Even more than we anticipated.”

He says they are holding an emergency meeting with all stakeholders on Tuesday to find out exactly what went wrong.

They have a new plan around ticketing to prevent this going forward.
