Tshwane EMS rescues bus driver after vehicle submerged in water due to heavy rains

JOHANNESBURG - Tshwane emergency officials have rescued a bus driver near Hammanskraal after his vehicle was submerged in water due to heavy rains.
While there were no fatalities, it is not yet clear if there were any passengers on board.
Tshwane EMS spokesperson, Lindsay Mnguni, said the driver wasn’t injured.
"We sent our rescue teams, and they found the bus under the water. The city water rescue technicians rescued the bus driver successfully."
He said two more people were also rescued in a separate incident in the same area.
"In the same body of water at Babelegi, we also rescued two security guards who were on the rooftop of their vehicle in the streets because of the heavy rains. The South African Weather Service issued an advisory saying there is still going to be heavy rains."
