JOHANNESBURG - Three people are receiving treatment at a Pretoria hospital after inhaling smoke when a fire broke out at an apartment block in Brooklyn.  

It is understood that the blaze broke out on Wednesday afternoon in an apartment at the three-storey building.  

Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni said they managed to contain the fire before it could spread.

"Firefighters immediately established incident command and began with firefighting operations. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined."
