JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is set to decide if indeed there is a case of high treason against minority lobby groups AfriForum and Solidarity.
This as the Hawks are currently probing four dockets of high treason linked to claims of a white genocide against farmers in the country.
The allegations have been presented by AfriForum and Solidarity to US President Donald Trump's administration.
The organisations have, on at least two occasions, held meetings with the US, lobbying for Trump to intervene and hold the African National Congress (ANC) accountable for what they’ve described as threats to the Afrikaans culture.
This follows the implementation of the Basic Education Laws Amendment Act and the Expropriation Act.
Speaking to EWN, Hawks head, General Godfrey Lebeya, confirmed they were investigating.
"This kind of investigation needs to be done thoroughly and also the decision needs to be made by the NPA at higher levels."
