JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has cautioned its customers that planned maintenance outages will continue - to prepare for the upcoming winter season.
The power utility suspended Stage 3 load shedding on Sunday morning — which was reimplemented on Friday last week.
Eskom says it was able to recover more than 300 megawatts of generation capacity and replenishment of emergency reserves.
The utility’s spokesperson, Daphne Mokowena, says efforts to restore more capacity are ongoing.
“The team is working diligently to restore 4091 megawatts back to service by Monday. We maintain our guidance that loadshedding is largely behind us due to structural improvements in the generation fleet. While baseload capacity remains constrained, our generation recovery plan is addressing this challenge.”
