WATCH: ‘Shaka iLembe’ returns for season 2 on 15 June

After its first ground-breaking season, ‘Shaka iLembe’ returns for an electrifying second season.

We pick up as Shaka (played by Lemogang Tsipa) and Nandi (played by Nomzamo Mbatha) arrive at KwaNobamba, where he begins his reign as the new Zulu King.

“We get to explore Shaka the king, the strategist, the visionary, as he builds an empire,” says Nomsa Philiso, CEO of General Entertainment at MultiChoice.

Speaking to 702's Relebogile Mabotja, Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela says the new season will be one to watch.

The series secured its place as a landmark in South African storytelling in 2023 after breaking records and winning a phenomenal 12 South African Film and Television Awards.

Season two of ‘Shaka iLembe’ premieres on Sunday, 15 June at 8 pm on Mzansi Magic, DStv Channel 161.
