3 people arrested for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition in Makhaza

CAPE TOWN - Three people have been arrested for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition in Makhaza.
Police said that members of the Makhaza hijacking team searched a premises in NX informal settlement on Thursday afternoon where they found the three suspects.
Police spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie, said the suspects would appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court once charged.
"During the search of the premises, the members discovered an unlicensed 7.65 pistol with ammunition. The suspects aged 23, 34 and 37 were arrested for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as the possession of suspected stolen property."
