JOHANNESBURG - A donkey has been rescued from a waste storage facility in Pretoria East.
Emergency services had to remove a large concrete slab hanging over the distressed animal.
The septic tank also had large rocks that required extra mechanics, which made the process even slower.
Emergency Management Services (EMS) spokesperson Lindsay Mnguni said although the operation took several hours, they were able to safely remove the four-legged creature.
“This rescue operation and the swift actions of our firefighters highlight some of our values as the City of Tshwane Emergency Services Department and the commitment to saving lives and property, no matter the challenges we may be faced with at incidents.”
