Diabetes is a growing problem across our country. Knowing your diabetes status is essential to get the right treatment.
If this condition goes untreated you can develop numerous severe complications, including problems with your heart, eyes, and kidneys.
According to Maowasha, diabetes can be extremely difficult to diagnose until the person starts to show symptoms.
He is urging people who are pre-diabetic, have a family history of diabetes, or have a high BMI to speak to their healthcare provider and get tested.

There are two types of diabetes, type 1 which is genetic, and type 2 which can be prevented.
