JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) is likely to continue with its wait-and-see approach to the current impasse with its Government of National Unity (GNU) partner, the African National Congress (ANC).
On Monday night, the DA's federal executive committee met to discuss a way forward.
The party has held federal executive meetings over recent weeks, leading up to and after the vote on the fiscal framework in Parliament.

Twelve members of the party serve in the coalition government.
According to DA insiders, the party is now sitting pretty, waiting out its time as it looks to the ANC's next move.
EWN understands that the majority of the DA members serving as ministers and deputies are ready to call it quits despite confirmation that the ANC has approached the party seeking to restart coalition negotiations.
They claim that this time around, the ANC wants to have formal conversations about power sharing.
Co-governance is the crux of the deadlock between the two parties, with the DA accusing the ANC of often sidelining its GNU partners on crucial matters of national importance.
Another DA federal executive member told EWN that it's concluded that the ANC is incapable of making decisions, including whether to retain or kick the DA out of the GNU.
The ANC's negotiation team has until the end of this week to meet with coalition partners.
