Luthuli died in 1967, and the records show he was struck by a train.
The NPA wants to overturn the initial findings of his death.
Prosecutor Ncedile Dunywa said, “Evidence shall be placed before your ladyship which will expose collusion between the security police, district surgeons, pathologists including the magistrate that presided over the initial inquest on 20 September 1967.”
Sandile Luthuli, grandson of Chief Albert Luthuli, said the family never believed that he died due to being struck by a train.
