JOHANNESBURG - Search and rescue teams are currently in the Hennops River beneath the N1 highway in Centurion, recovering a vehicle.
The vehicle is believed to be a white VW Polo in which three police officers from the Free State were travelling when they went missing.
Last week Wednesday, constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys and Boipelo Senoge left Bloemfontein to travel to Polokwane for deployment but never arrived.
They were last seen at a petrol station in Lenasia in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The vehicle being pulled out of the Hennops River can only be described as a mangled wreck.
The roof is completely crushed and caved in.
The boot was split open, proving that the river was a raging body of water.
The vehicle looks more brown than white, given that it had been submerged underwater.
But it will now provide key evidence to determine what may have happened in this case.
It's believed the three police officers travelling in a white VW Polo crashed into a barricade on the N1 highway last Thursday.
The bodies of constables Linda, Buys and Senoge were recovered this week a few kilometers down river from this location.
