JOHANNESBURG - Thousands of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters have arrived at the Kleinfontein community in Tshwane protesting against the existence of the whites-only settlement.

The party embarked on a 1km march to the community on Friday, to extend calls for the abolishment of the exclusive Afrikaner community.

The red berets are now picketing outside the gated and heavily guarded community.

EFF member of Parliament, Carl Niehaus, said that the party’s main objective was to pressure government to either shut down the settlement or open it to people of all races.

"So we will not stop until the law is implemented and Kleinfontein, as an illegal settlement, is brought to an end. It must become part of the whole South Africa and it cannot be a no-go zone for the majority of South Africans."
