KZN police beef up security ahead of Nedbank Cup final

DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal police have beefed up security ahead of Saturday's Nedbank Cup final in Durban following advice from the Crime Intelligence unit.
Police said this followed threats made on social media platforms by supporters complaining about ticket sales.

The supporters complained that there was unfairness with how tickets were sold they were reportedly planning to cause chaos outside the stadium.
KZN Deputy Police Commissioner Major-General Phumelele Makhoba said: "The planning team had to revise the operational plans considering the possible and potential threats as advised by our intelligence teams. We are in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, and we don’t allow lawlessness and it will not be tolerated on the day of the match."
