CAPE TOWN - The Mother City experienced strong winds and rain as a cold front hit the region on Saturday.

The City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management Center says no major incidents had been reported, but teams will remain on standby to monitor weather conditions.

The current forecast is expected to remain the same throughout the weekend with winds calming down later.

"We remind the public to please remain vigilant for any impacts on the strong gust of winds, be aware of flying debris like tree branches and other loose objects, stay off roofs and other elevated areas, ensure that all loose items on your property are securely stored or packed away," the city's Charlotte Powell said.
