Roads are expected to be busy, which may cause an increase in traffic on some major routes in KwaZulu-Natal, as parts of the city will be closed for security reasons.
Deputy Transport Minister Mkhuleko Hlengwa has issued a warning to soccer fans.
"We want to start off by calling on South Africans to exercise maximum caution and to be safe on the roads, not to drink and drive, to ensure that they leave on time so that they don’t find themselves under the pressure of rushing - and to therefore also ensure that they are in the stadium on time to minimise on congestion."
Hlengwa also urged fans to make use of transport made available for supporters.
"There will be trains at R20 available from and to the stadium to ensure that we ease the congestion in and around the precinct of the stadium."
